What is the best way to install a preformed pond?

  • Dig a hole 5–10 cm larger than the shell
  • Level the bottom with about 5 cm of sand
  • Position the pond, checking the levelness
  • Back-fill with sand, not clay soil, parallel to the water fill

Where should the pond be positioned correctly?

Yes: slow acclimatization of 20-30 min.

Choose an area with 4–6 hours of sun per day , free from invasive roots. Place it on a stable surface, using sand to level it, and keep the edge slightly raised to avoid infiltration.

Do you need a specific pump or filter?

Absolutely yes: each pond should be connected to a pump with a flow rate equal to the full volume at least once an hour . A system with a mechanical filter + biological filter + UV-C lamp keeps the water clean and reduces algae and pathogens.
